Please explain all 16 devaloka one by one
Here are the 16 Devalokas (heavenly realms) in Jain cosmology, listed one by one with a simple, traditional Arth (meaning) for each. These are the major Devalokas in the upper world (Urdhva Loka). After them lies Siddhashila, the realm of liberated souls.
1) Saudharma
- Arth: the first heavenly realm in the Devaloka sequence; a high, luminous abode of gods.
2) Ishana (Ishana-loka)
- Arth: a prestigious heavenly realm associated with divine rulers and great power.
3) Sanatkumara
- Arth: sacred, long-vanished sages/gods; a high rank among the Devas.
4) Mahendra
- Arth: the great Indra-like realm; a powerful, royal godly abode.
5) Brahma
- Arth: abode of Brahma-like beings, eminent divine beings with great knowledge and power.
6) Brahmottara
- Arth: the higher Brahma realms beyond Brahma; still among the uppermost Devalokas.
7) Lantava
- Arth: a noble, high heaven in the Devaloka hierarchy.
8) Kapishta
- Arth: a distinguished Devaloka with a mighty kingly ruler and retinue.
9) Shukra
- Arth: the realm of a chief celestial being named Shukra; a prominent heaven.
10) Mahashukra
- Arth: the greater, higher Shukra realm; an even more exalted Devaloka.
11) Shatara
- Arth: a high Devaloka associated with grand celestial powers.
12) Sahasrara
- Arth: a supreme among the Devalokas; very close to the top echelons of heaven.
13) Anata
- Arth: a revered Devaloka associated with vast longevity and contentment in the gods’ realm.
14) Pranata
- Arth: a high heaven where celestial beings enjoy great happiness and power.
15) Arana
- Arth: a noble Devaloka among the upper heavens, with its own retinue and splendor.
16) Achyuta
- Arth: the highest among the 16 Devalokas; a peak heaven of extraordinary prestige and power.
